Thordon Bearings Inc., a member of the Thomson-Gordon Group of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of high performance, non-metallic journal bearing systems for ships, offshore oil rigs, hydro-electric plants, pumps and many other industrial applications. First introduced in 1966, Thordon elastomeric polymer bearings combine some of the best properties of plastic with the toughness and abrasion resistance of rubber.

The non-metallic bearing business began in a small corner of the plant in the late 1960's; a simple experiment in reacting synthetic elastomer chemicals by the firm's third generation leader, George (Sandy) Thomson and production foreman Arnold Lange.

Since that time Thordon has continued to develop, test and introduce new polymers in a search for new products that solve our customers most demanding bearing applications and problems.

With Thordon bearings specified all around the world in many different applications, an extensive distribution network has been established in over 70 countries.  The following video offers some insight of the many uses of Thordon bearings and its global distribution network.
